The idea is that the students will have their own name books to use as a resource. Each day they can read their books, identify the letters of their names, and start to make the letter-sound connection.

Here’s the thing about individual name practice for our preschoolers. It is so important. But also, it can take So.Much.Time. to make them for each and every student, especially if you have a large class.

In order to be practical, it has to be quick and easy to type in a class list, then print the pages. So we created these easy, editable name books!

The pages print out with a capital letter, a lower case letter and a matching picture on each page.

You could just cut the pages apart and staple them together. Or you could do what we did and make little books out of cardstock. Then we glued the pages on. They are more durable that way!

It only takes a couple of minutes each day for the children to read their books.

We ask them to identify the letter and the picture like this: “B. B is for bee. R. R is for rainbow.”
